May You Remain Tickless

Hello there!

We just got back from the cabin an hour north of Saskatoon. It was a quick and productive trip, hooking the water back up, and getting a handle on some long overdue yard work. I did some weed control on our alleged gravel parking area, which looks more like a field of dandelions than a gravel pad.

We also picked off a few ticks. In fact, my husband peeled one off of his leg in the middle of the night last night. As you could imagine, he didn’t get much sleep past that. I was completely unaware of the unwanted visitor on his thigh until morning.

Not sure if that makes me feel better or not.

I can’t remember when these so-called devils’ spawn started making their way to Saskatchewan, but I’d like it if they went back to where they came from. When I was a kid, there were no ticks in this neck of the woods, I really miss those days.

As most of you know, we are dog owners, and we do give the pups tick meds. But that doesn’t stop those creepy crawlers from somehow finding their way onto our bodies. I shiver at the thought. I will never get used to them, not ever. Disgusting.

With tick season upon us, it also means grad season is here!

I do have a couple of spots left, but they are limited, so make sure to hit me up on the old contact form to save your date.
