One of the yummiest little Asian places in Saskatoon. And of course each person you meet will have their own opinion on that. Lord knows there is quite the endless supply of Asian eateries to choose from here in Saskatoon. Believe me, I am not complaining. Just calling it like it is folks.
I love this place. For all the usual reasons, one of them being my neurosis for soup, and their soups and rolls are so damn tasty. And, I was reluctant.. but decided its only fair, to spread the word on this little hut of asian deliciousness. Your welcome :)
I’ve tried numerous bowls, and have not been disappointed yet. My fav -for the moment- is the Singapore Laksa #61 on the menu. Rich and creamy coconut milk in chicken broth, mingling with a red curry, loads of shrimp, noodles, deep fried tofu, (don't knock it 'till you've tried it) onions, and cilantro. Oh for crying out loud, I'll probably have to go back tomorrow.
Uniquely located in an old converted two story in Riversdale. There's some conveniently discounted parking on the south side of The Hollows during the day, and they are closed Mondays. I also recommend calling before you head down there, Asian Hut can be randomly closed on occasion. Which is fine, I'm sure they have a valid reason. They clearly can not be held responsible for satisfying my random cravings on a whim; and because Im having some sort of an obsessive love affair with their soup, I will forgive them.
As I creep on other tables its clear that customers are able to venture onto enjoying other non-soup dishes, seemingly quite happy with their choices. But for moi, the soup wins at this place. And someday, I may just learn to get past ordering something else . . Someday.
